Hằng Hằng (b. 1995, Hanoi) is a visual artist, performance maker, and scenographer working between Vietnam and Europe. She holds a master’s degree in scenography from École des Arts Décoratifs, Paris. Her work reexamines micro-histories and family narratives through sensual memory. Positioned at the intersection of narrative turbulence, Hằng Hằng explores the impossibility of translation. Navigating between documentary and imagined landscapes, she creates immersive spaces where reality, dreams, and magic converge.

Informed by her scenographic practice, Hằng seeks a holistic approach to art. She emphasizes the importance of site-specific work and the pivotal moment of encounter between the audience, the artwork, and the space. Personal and collective histories play a central role in these encounters. She creates environments where the interaction between space and narrative invites a deeper exploration of memory, identity, and imagination.

Hằng Hằng is the founder of the Phú Lãng Sa Collective, a community of emerging Vietnamese artists based in Europe. In 2025, she was awarded the Dogma Prize and presented her first solo exhibition at Galerie BAO (Paris). Her work has also been shown at the Setouchi Triennale 2025 at the Kagawa Museum (Takamatsu), the Linden Museum (Stuttgart), POUSH (Aubervilliers), as well as at Documenta 15 (Kassel), within the “Emerging Artists” program of the Nhà Sàn Collective in Hanoi.

In 2023, she took part in Common Stories, a mobile laboratory exploring diversity in European performing arts, held at MC93 (Bobigny), Riksteatern (Stockholm), D-Caf (Cairo), and Alkantara (Lisbon). In 2024 and 2025, she is developing her theatrical performance Carrée Arrondi, presented at MC93 (Bobigny), A-Turma (Porto), DOC (Paris), and Kunstencentrum BUDA (Kortrijk).
